OSHAID Foundation

OSHAID International is a not-for-profit charitable foundation committed to taking basic occupational health & safety practices to industries in developing nations. Through the commitment of our sponsors, volunteers and staff, OSHAID International undertakes a range of projects to improve occupational safety in industry groups that have limited capacity to investigate or implement fundamental work safety practices.

More than 270 million workers are injured each year...

The International Labor Organisation estimates that more the two million workers die each year through work related accidents and diseases. This translate to four deaths worldwide every minute. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

-More than 270,000,000 workers each year are involved in occupational accidents.
-12,000 children die each year working in hazardous conditions.
-There are more than 640,000 cases of workplace cancers each year. Asbestos related diseases account for than 100,000 lives lost annually.

OSHAID International Foundation is a response by committed health & safety practitioners, companies and suppliers in the western world to work towards the elimination of work related fatalities , injuries and diseases among emerging industries and organisations in developing economies.

Our mission is to inform train and work with emerging industries  in developing economies to improve their knowledge and respect for the fundamental tenets of occupational health & safety practices adopted by many first world organisations.

Our services are delivered on an aid basis and rely on the generous support of project sponsors, volunteers and employer companies.

       Our Philosophy:
We believe in the sanctity of life of every worker.

We believe that those with knowledge on health and safety practices must share this knowledge openly and honestly to improve safety and health at work for all workers

We believe in working with people at all different levels in Government and industry to ultimately improve the well being of workers.

Taking a World View of OHS

We believe that it is critical to adopt a world view of OHS. Sharing and supplying information to others should be a priority for all OHS practitioners.
