About Us
Principles
OSHAID International was established in June
2005 in Queensland, Australia by a group of
committed professional occupational safety
practitioners that recognized the vision for
taking fundamental occupational safety to a
range of industries in developing economies. The
organization operates around the following
principles:
·
All workers, regardless of their country,
company, race, creed or circumstances have a
basic right to come home safe from work.
·
Core safety information should be provided to
all workers worldwide not just those working in
companies that recognize the benefits of safety
programs and practitioners.
Projects undertaken by OSHAID International are
without direct cost to the recipient
organization. All projects are funded through
corporate sponsors, personal financial donations
or donations of time on behalf of corporate
safety practitioners.
What we do!!!
The organizations core services include:
·Translation
of basic safety information into a range of
foreign languages and or pictorial information
according to industry or occupational group.
·Distribute
safety information to identified recipients,
such as small villages who are reliant on a
particular working activity to sustain
livelihood. Examples include small mining towns,
village manufacturing industries.
·On-site
short term projects involving assessment of
risks and training in basic safe working
strategies.
·Assisting
in the development of industry codes of practice
or standards.
·Sponsorship
of students from third world countries or
industries to participate in international study
opportunities, conferences or work
opportunities.
·Supply
of protective equipment to third world high risk
industries without cost.
·Liaising
with, and lobbying governments for improvement
of occupational health & safety laws and
practices.
