Gold Mine Safety - Inner Mongolia

Through the ILO, OSHAID has identified an important project in Gold Mine Safety in Mongolia. A number of small mines have been developed by local herders. These mines, often illegal, may use children in the conduct of mining operations. While the ILO is working on the children issue, there is still much to be achieved in OSH. Many miners do not have the fundamental knowledge of the management of mercury and often women and children are exposed in their homes.

A scoping study for this project has commenced. We urgently need professionals with some knowledge of small gold mine safety to assist with the scoping study. Please contact our office on admin@oshaid.org if you can assist with the scoping issues associated with this project.
